While going to university, Dirk Rumpff started his own clubnight and radioshow  with international guests such as Jazzanova, Beanfield, Michael Rütten, Alex Dallas etc.

After running his radioshow on offtrack.org for the past 9 years, Dirk soon became internationally known for his eclectic selections ranging from the roots of Folk and Jazz to modern soulful grooves including various Downbeat, HipHop, Broken Beats, quality Deep House & Detroit Techno. The Red Bull Music Academy chose Dirk in the summer of 2000 from a couple of thousand applicants to attend its classes in Dublin. In the meantime he has become a German ambassador for the academy.

Moving to Munich in 2001 he hooked up with his mates at Compost records and “into somethin´” in order to get deeper into the musical stream and also to start his Season project with members of Compost´s Salvador Group. Besides organising clubnights and exhibitions he´s been djing all over germany and beyond its borders with the usual suspects from the so called freestyle circle. In 2004 Jazzanova wrote about Dirk as a talented newcomer in german Groove mag. 3 years ago he moved to Berlin in order to reinforce his connections to the Sonar Kollektiv and to become a freelance A&R.

Besides his main occupation as an anaethetist at Berlins uni-hospital Charité he is a frequent writer for Groove magazine, he still organises special events like an audiovisual installation in the local planetarium among a series of exhibitions and his main focus is to continue his productions under the Season moniker.

Currently he is busy in the studio with Jazzanova member Roskow Kretschmann working on a series of new tunes including collaborations with Randolph Matthews, Heidi Vogel and Ovasoul7 as Season & Sygaire. Their first tune was released on Gilles Petersons “In The House” Compilation on Defected this spring. His bi-weekly OFFtrack radioshow is now broadcasted through different international channels and has become a reference for music lovers worldwide. For the Sonar Kollektiv he compiled the next “…broadcasting” compilation together with Jazzanova. It features a series of exclusives made especially for this comp by Mark Pritchard, Steve Spacek, Trickski, Slope, and more from the Jazzanova stable.
