Phil ..blackstar.. Kamp was Born 1981 in Munich/Germany and he likes to say
that his passion for music started with 7 (when he copied some of Michael
Jacksons dance moves in front of a mirror), but really it started in the
early 90..s. The Fundamentals of his DJ skillz he learned and worked out with
Hip Hop and Rap and from the age of 18, he had his first national
and international club experiences. At those days he also had some shows for
the one and only Hip Hop Radio Station in Munich called "89 Hit-FM".
In 1997, Phil found his love and sanctuary for a different style of dance
music, something called "House"....and this still is his elixir of life.
From this days on, basically his collection is all music he really feels. It
is contemporary, but also oldschool dance music. Most of all music with
afro-american, latin and afro roots. To give a littel reflection, it ranges
from Soul to House, from Latin to Funk, from New York Garage to Detroit
Tech-House, from spiritual Jazz to Disco Classics. As Duke Ellington says:
"There is only two kinds of music, Good or Bad!!!!"
With his brother Tobi Kamp, who owns Blackstar Music Management, he
organiced many deep and soulful Dance Nights all over Germany and played
alongside Franck Roger, Mr.V, Tyree Cooper, Tyrone Francis, AME and many
many more....
Last year Phil Kamp hosted the whole Mr.V Album Release Tour in
Germany and last but not least Real Tone/Sole Channel Records passed him
the Residence for all forthcoming "The 5 Beats" Parties in Germany.
